A modern industrial facility requires a safe, reliable, and flexible medium voltage power distribution system to support continuous production, equipment protection, and future capacity expansion. For factories, commercial buildings, substations, infrastructure projects, and renewable energy stations, medium voltage switchgear plays a central role in receiving, distributing, controlling, and protecting electrical energy.
In this project plan case, the customer planned to build a new medium voltage power distribution room for an industrial manufacturing base. The system needed to provide stable power supply for transformers, production lines, motor loads, HVAC systems, lighting systems, and auxiliary electrical equipment. At the same time, the customer required a compact cabinet layout, reliable short-circuit protection, easy maintenance, and smart monitoring capability.
To meet these project requirements, GAOBO SWITCHGEAR MANUFACTURER proposed the MSAMV001 Schneider Electric MVnex-12 AIS Switchgear, a high-performance air-insulated medium voltage switchgear solution designed for systems up to 24kV.
The Schneider MVnex-12 is an indoor, metal-clad, mid-mount withdrawable AIS switchgear. It integrates Schneider’s HVX solid-sealed vacuum circuit breaker and is designed for safety, reliability, efficiency, smart monitoring, and medium voltage power distribution applications.

The customer needed a medium voltage switchgear system suitable for long-term industrial operation. The project required both dependable electrical performance and practical maintenance convenience.
The main requirements included:
GAOBO proposed a customized Schneider Electric MVnex-12 AIS Switchgear lineup based on the customer’s load demand, transformer capacity, feeder quantity, protection requirements, installation space, and future expansion plan.
The system was designed as a complete medium voltage distribution solution, including:
The MVnex-12 as a medium-voltage air-insulated switchgear used for receiving, distributing, and protecting electrical energy in substations, factories, buildings, and infrastructure projects. It also supports flexible primary wiring schemes for different project requirements.
For this project, the switchgear was configured according to the site power system and customer safety requirements.
Main technical configuration:

GAOBO’s technical team first reviewed the customer’s electrical drawings, transformer capacity, incoming power supply, feeder circuit requirements, short-circuit current level, cable entry method, electrical room layout, and future expansion requirements.
This stage helped confirm the cabinet quantity, rated current, protection scheme, control logic, metering function, and final switchgear arrangement.
Based on the load analysis, GAOBO prepared the medium voltage power distribution design. The design included single-line diagram, cabinet layout, primary circuit scheme, secondary control wiring, protection relay configuration, metering system, and communication interface.
The modular structure of the MVnex-12 switchgear allowed the system to be arranged flexibly according to incoming, outgoing, bus section, metering, and transformer protection functions.
The Schneider HVX solid-sealed vacuum circuit breaker was selected as the main breaking and protection component. This type of circuit breaker supports high breaking capacity, long service life, and low maintenance requirements, helping the customer improve system reliability and reduce operating risks.
The switchgear was also designed with five-prevention interlocking to reduce misoperation risks during switching, maintenance, and inspection. The product page highlights five-prevention interlocking, IP4X / IP2X protection, and smart monitoring readiness as key safety and operation features.
After technical confirmation, GAOBO arranged factory manufacturing and assembly. The cabinet structure was produced with high-strength galvanized steel plates and epoxy powder coating. The cabinet was divided into busbar, circuit breaker, cable, and low-voltage compartments for improved safety and operation management.
During factory assembly, the team completed busbar installation, circuit breaker truck assembly, secondary wiring, protection relay installation, mechanical interlocking assembly, cable compartment preparation, and internal inspection.
Before delivery, the MVnex-12 switchgear underwent quality inspection and functional testing. The inspection covered cabinet appearance, mechanical operation, withdrawable truck movement, interlocking function, wiring accuracy, grounding continuity, insulation performance, control circuit operation, and protection relay function.
This helped reduce installation risks and improve commissioning efficiency at the project site.
After passing inspection, the switchgear cabinets were packed and delivered to the customer’s site. During installation, the customer completed cabinet positioning, foundation fixing, cable connection, grounding connection, and on-site commissioning.
GAOBO provided technical support for installation guidance, protection setting coordination, and system start-up preparation.
The Schneider Electric MVnex-12 AIS Switchgear solution helped the customer build a safe, reliable, and expandable medium voltage distribution system.
